The Rotary Club of Makati values nutrition, especially for young children. That’s why on September 10, the team once again gathered to bring hope and nourishment through the launch of a Feeding Program at Capt. H. Francisco Elementary School in Pateros, Metro Manila. Joining this mission of service were President Eddie Galvez, Past President Freddie Borromeo with Ann Jojo Borromeo, Director Michael Hsu, Past President Junjun Dayrit, and Rotarians Nicky Ramos and Yaron Hahami. They were joined by Ms. Vicky Wieneke of Kabisig ng Kalahi, RC Metropolitan Pateros led by UGP Pink Guillarte, and members of the Interact Club of Gen. Pio del Pilar National High School. The event began with an inspiring project overview from Ms. Vicky of Kabisig ng Kalahi, followed by heartfelt messages from PP Freddie, President Eddie, Director Michael, and UGP Pink — all affirming a shared vision of uplifting young lives. A ceremonial signing sealed this partnership, paving the way for a program that will serve 70 malnourished children, ages five to nine, with a daily glass of milk for 120 days. On launch day, steaming bowls of porridge with egg and milk were lovingly prepared and served by our Interactors, assisted by Rotarians who guided the children as they enjoyed their meal. But Rotary’s support went beyond food. The club also turned over 200 books from the Books Across the Seas program, along with donated copies of Beware the Snake from Ann Angela Garcia — a storybook that empowers children with awareness, teaching them how to protect themselves and understand their rights. In gratitude, the school awarded certificates of recognition to the Rotary Club of Makati, honoring a program that nourishes minds, safeguards children, and plants seeds of hope for the future. With a project cost of P117,000 covering 70 children for 120 days, this Feeding Program stands as a testament to what Rotary can do — creating lasting impact, protecting children, and transforming lives… one meal, one book, and one act of kindness at a time.
