In its unwavering commitment to promoting community health, RC Makati joined forces with RC Makati Premier District and the Philippine Cancer Society to launch its inaugural cancer screening mission for the Rotary year. Held at San Antonio Valley 8, Parañaque City, this event focused on providing free cancer screenings to women aged 21 to 60, offering them an essential service often out of reach for underserved communities. Supported by the expertise of nurses from the Philippine Cancer Society, the screenings emphasized the importance of early detection in saving lives. Adding strength to the initiative, ACAP (Action for the Care and Development of the Poor) lent its support.

The program opened with meaningful messages from Pres. Keith Harrison, PP Cesar Campos, and Dir. Boy Arteche, who reiterated the club’s dedication to uplifting women through accessible healthcare. A ceremonial turnover of ₱20,000 to the Philippine Cancer Society further reinforced this commitment, directly aiding its ongoing mission to combat cancer. Program Director Romi Marcaida of the Philippine Cancer Society enriched the event with an orientation session, equipping participants with knowledge about cancer prevention and the resources available to them. This initiative not only marked a milestone for RC Makati but also reinforced its role as a catalyst for positive, community-focused change.
